Lady Victoria Hervey claims Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rushed into their marriage

Harry and Meghan are believed to have met on a blind date in July 2016, according to the biography Finding Freedom.

The lovebirds became engaged a year later in August 2017 – before officially announcing the news three months later in November, and then married in May 2018.

Lady Victoria, who is the daughter of the 6th Marquess of Bristol, said to Closer magazine: “I think Harry and Meghan’s courtship was way too short. I just don’t see it lasting.

“I remember just before their wedding, I thought, ‘They’ll get married, have a few kids… And she will end up wanting to be in America’.”

Finding Freedom also claims that Prince William advised Harry to “take as much time as you need to get to know this girl” – which Harry took offence to.

Lady Victoria added that she doesn’t think Meghan and Harry spent enough time together in England, and said: “They were always travelling somewhere. They moved too fast.”

She said that Kate Middleton and Prince William’s relationship is so successful as they took a long time before getting married.

She also said she found the couple’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey “distasteful”, due to it taking place when the late Prince Philip, who died in April aged 99, was ill in hospital.

Lady Victoria added: “The way it was done, with Prince Philip in the hospital, literally about to die. I thought it was pretty unreal.”

During the chat, the Sussexes claimed one member of the royal family questioned what colour their son Archie’s skin would be before he was born – although they clarified it was not the Queen or Prince Philip who made the remark.

Lady Victoria said she thinks Harry is now the “black sheep” of the royal family, although she believes he would be welcomed back with open arms if he should wish to return to the UK.
