Meghan Markle discusses gender equality in first Instagram post since emotional TV interview

MEGHAN Markle has posted on Instagram for the first time since her emotional TV interview aired – touching on an issue close to her heart.

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, broke her silence to announce her upcoming engagements – which include a ceremony supporting young activists and discussions about gender equality.

The mum-of-one will make an appearance at the One Young World opening ceremony this evening, “to continue her support for this amazing collective of global youth ambassadors”.

Meghan has worked with the charity, who support “the next generation of game-changing activists”, since 2014 – before she met husband Prince Harry, 35.

Posting on the Sussex Royal Instagram, her team revealed: “This evening she again joins world leaders and activists to celebrate the youth of today as they tackle some of the worlds greatest problems.

“She is proud to attend as Vice President of The Queens Commonwealth Trust and to continue her long-standing commitment to this very important summit.”

Later this week, The Duchess will meet with OYW young leaders to discuss gender equality,in a round table discussion she is hosting.

Meghan shared a series of photos from past OYW events – including one where she’s in conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 47.

She also posted a video of her speaking about female empowerment at a past event.

In the ITV documentary, which aired on Sunday night, Meghan admitted she was “existing not living” and felt “vulnerable” as she spoke about life as a new mum.

The programme, shot during their Royal Tour of Africa, prompted sources to reveal fragile Harry is not in great shape and has fractious relationship with Prince William.

While a royal commentator revealed today how Meghan and Harry’s refusal to put up and shut up could be problematic for the royal family.
