BEFORE Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals, it was revealed the palace try to avoid diary clashes between royal family members.

But yesterday the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Bradford on an official engagement, followed by Meghan visiting women at Justice For Girls in Canada.

Katie Nicholl revealed clashes were typically avoided to prevent competition between the Sussexes and Cambridges

Although some unintentional crossovers have occurred in the past, royal author Katie Nicholl revealed clashes were typically avoided by courtiers to prevent competition between the Sussexes and Cambridges.

She spoke to Fabulous Digital about the palace keeping the Cambridges 2019 tour of Pakistan and the Sussexes tour of Africa on separate weeks.

Katie explained: I would expect the palace would have tried to have planned it so there werent be too many clashes as the Cambridges will be putting the spotlight on Pakistan and the Sussexes will be shining their light on Africa.

I think thats why where couriers can avoid diary clashes they will, because theyll be keen to avoid any sense of competition between the couples.

However, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announcing they are stepping back from royal duties to split their time between the UK and Canada, could we see more diary clashes in the future?

Yesterday, the Duchess of Sussex was pictured chatting with women at Justice For Girls – a charity promoting an end to violence and racism against teenage girls living in poverty.

She was seen for the first time since announcing she and Harry want to quit royal life as she boarded a seaplane from Vancouver Island to Vancouver to carry out the charity visits on Tuesday.

There was no sign of nine-month-old son Archie, who was believed to have been left with a nanny.

Meanwhile, Kate and Prince William headed to Bradford where they visited a number of community workshops – including one session aimed at strengthening bonds between grandparents and grandchildren.

Katie previously said with the splitting of the royal households, it was likely that clashes will naturally occur.

She said: The whole point of splitting the household and splitting the foundations is so they can each pursue their own trajectories.

What courtiers will be hoping is that arent going to be any future clashes or conflict of interest or the chance to pit one couple against the other.
