MEGHAN Markle must help Prince Harry “sort himself out” and heal his rift with Prince William, the Queen’s former press secretary has claimed.

Dickie Arbiter – who worked for The Queen for 12 years – spoke to Nine News Australia about Prince Harry and Mehgan Markle‘s decision not to spend Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham.

Meghan Markle ‘must heal’ the rift between Prince Harry and Prince William

Earlier this week, The Sun exclusively revealed that the couple wanted to “recharge their batteries” over Christmas before the Palace confirmed they’d be spending the festive season with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.

Commenting on the couple’s decision to spend their first Christmas away from Sandringham, Dickie said: “[The Queen] is not heavy with any of the grandchildren and lets them get on with it.”

That said, the expert did argue that Prince Harry “needs to decide” how he is going to navigate his role in the Royal Family after him and Meghan became increasingly adamant about their right to privacy this summer.

Last month, Prince Harry acknowledged rumours of a rift between him and his brother during an ITV documentary about his Africa tour – and admitted they’re “on different paths”.

Meghan and Harry will begin their six-week break from royal duties next week

Dickie continued: “Harry has got to sort himself out. He’s got to decide what it is he wants to do.

“There is speculation about him dropping out of the royal family but he was born a prince and he’ll die a prince and there’s no way he can escape from that.

“He’s got to sort his relationship out with his brother and the body language between the brothers when they are together is not the best. Hopefully Meghan will help him sort it out.”

In April, a body language expert claimed that Prince William and Harry had had a “serious falling out” based on how they avoided each other during a black-tie event at the Natural History Museum.

Next week, the couple will begin their six-week break from royal duties – and the Duchess of Sussex reportedly wants to volunteer at a homeless shelter with her mother for Thanksgiving.
