A VIDEO of Meghan Markle giving advice to a young woman interviewing for an internship was released yesterday, and as always the duchess looked picture-perfect.

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, appeared to have nailed her “zoom groom” – and looked flawless on the video chat during lockdown.

Meghan Markle’s make-up artist Ruby Hammer has revealed how the tricks the duchess does on camera to look flawless

The call was part of Meghan’s role of patron of the charity Smart Works, which helps unemployed women prepare for interviews.

Wearing a simple, V-neck jumper, with her brunette tresses sleek and pulled back, the mum-of-one appears to have mastered the art of dressing for video chatting.

Celebrity make-up artist Ruby Hammer, who has done Meghan’s make-up in the past, told the Telegraph: “Meghan has nailed the perfect Zoom make-up look.”

Here are the five tricks the duchess has used with hair and make-up to look flawless on camera, as revealed by Ruby…

The call was part of Meghan’s role of patron of the charity Smart Works, which helps unemployed women prepare for interviews

Add three layers of mascara

Ruby said that many people ask her how to ace video make-up and she said it is down to the eyes.

She said Meghan looked “awake and alert”, partly due to having brushed brows, and also down to the fact “Meghan has two or three layers of mascara on.”

The beauty expert said filling in your brows will make all the difference on camera.

Blusher is key

Ruby said that Meghan has revealed her facial structure on camera thanks to pulling her hair back and not holding back on the blusher.

She said: “She’s quite naturally chiseled, so all she has on is a healthy bit of blush.”

Ruby advised putting blusher upwards and outwards, high on cheeks, rather than on the apples of the cheeks to avoid the face looking rounder on a front-on camera.

Wearing blusher will also prevent you from looking washed out.

Ruby said Meghan is naturally chiseled and blusher can help to accentuate this

Have glossy lips, not matte

Ruby said that a good tactic for preventing lips from looking dried out on camera is to wear something comfortable on them.

Meghan did a lot of speaking in her video call for Smart Works, so it was important she opted for something like a balmy lipstick or juicy lip gloss.

This helps to prevent the lips from drying out and you can re-apply quickly if needed.

Translucent powder is a must-have

Ruby pointed out that Meghan has a glow on the tops of her cheeks, but doesn’t look too shiny.

She said many women don’t like translucent powder as they think it looks cakey, but they should wear it for video calls.

Ruby observed that she thinks Meghan has added the matte powder between her brows, on the sides of her nose and her chin to give a polished look.

Ruby said Meghan’s Zoom look is similar to her wedding day make-up and looks natural with her freckles showing through

Add a glow base

Ruby said that Meghan’s skin looks glowy in the lockdown video and similar to how the duchess looked on her wedding day.

She said Meghan likes to keep her base light enough to see her freckles, which works for her as she has beautiful skin due to eating healthily.

Ruby said that to achieve the look, you should opt for tinted moisturiser with a heavier concealer under the eyes.
