EMBATTLED Prince Andrew secretly met with alleged “pimp” Ghislaine Maxwell two weeks after the Jeffrey Epstein paedo probe was re-opened, it is claimed.
The Duke of York, who has been sacked by the Queen in the wake of the scandal, claimed in his car-crash BBC interview he last saw Maxwell at a rally but said they didn’t discuss Epstein.
But the meeting took place on or around June 5 – the day before Maxwell embarked on a glamorous four-day supercar rally to Monaco from London.
It also came two weeks after US prosecutors announced they wanted to reopen their investigation into the paedo millionaire, The Telegraph reports.
Disgraced Epstein was arrested on July 6 – around a month after the alleged meeting between Andrew and Maxwell.
He killed himself in his prison cell a month later while waiting sex trafficking charges.
Maxwell is accused of procuring victims for the disgraced financier, which she strongly denies.
Speaking in the bombshell BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew said his last contact with Maxwell was “earlier this year funnily enough in the summer, in the spring, summer” as she was “here doing some rally”.
Asked whether the pair had discussed the paedo, Prince Andrew replied: “No, actually funnily enough no, not at all, there wasn’t anything to discuss about him because he wasn’t in the news, you know, it was just… we moved on.”
GLAMOUR RALLY
The meeting took place while she was in Britain for the all-female rally with Nettie Mason, the wife of Pink Floyd’s drummer Mason.
She joined a host of celebs including Paris Hilton and Chloe Green for the four-day Cash & Rocket charity event. There is no suggestion any of the participants are involved in the scandal.
It is believed to be the last time Maxwell visited the UK before vanishing amid the FBI inquiry into her links with Epstein.
Andrew has vehemently denied discussing the case with Maxwell – the daughter of disgraced media tycoon Robert Maxwell.
The court circular shows the Duke was in London in the first week of June as met Donald Trump during his state visit, The Telegraph reports.
His next official engagement took place on June 7 at Buckingham Palace as Maxwell drove through Paris en route to Monaco.
Andrew yesterday released a bombshell statement revealing he was stepping down from his royal duties after getting the boot from the Queen.
He has been stripped of his royal duties and 249,000 sovereign grant in the wake of the Newsnight interview over his relationship with Epstein.
The prince will also conduct no royal or public duties and will step back from all patronages.
He has pledged to co-operate with authorities investigating Epstein – opening him up to serious criminal risk.
Andrew has been accused of sensational claimshe bedded a 17-year-old and has faced mounting criticism for his friendship with the disgraced tycoon, which he denies.
A number of his claims from the explosive Newsnight interview have since unravelled.
Andrew said he did not recall meeting Virginia Robertsbut could remember visiting Pizza Express the very day she says they romped in 2001.
He also said the infamous picture showing his arm around Virginia’s waist was faked as public displays of affection are not something that I do.
But we found shots of him with other women indicating otherwise.
The prince also tried to rubbish Virginias claims that he was sweating profusely when they danced at nightclub Tramp in 2001.
He claimed it was almost impossible for him to perspire because he had developed sweat-limiting condition anhidrosis following an adrenaline overdose.
Yet Andrew was said to have been sweating after leaving a London club in 2000.
