PRINCE William and Kate showed their sweet side by baking cupcakes for the Poppy Appeal.

The Royal couple roped in children George, Charlotte and Louis to help decorate the fairy cakes with tiny edible poppies.

The Royal’s home-baked poppy cakes were sent to pensioners at a care home

They then sent the sweets to be enjoyed by pensioners at a Royal British Legion care home in Norfolk.

The Royal British Legion said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their family have shown their support for our Poppy Appeal this year by baking poppy cakes.

“These delicious cakes were delivered to residents at our care home in Norfolk.

“There are many ways you can support this year, from baking your own cakes to doing a poppy run.

Some 40,000 collectors usually help the Poppy Appeal, raising around £50million, but this year 12,000 of them will be shielding.

Poppies will be sold at 12,000 shops and Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Asda and JD Wetherspoon pubs.

Lloyds Bank and Santander customers can donate at branches.
