PRINCESS Charlotte may only just be approaching her fifth birthday, but she already has an impressive crew of cousins and siblings around her.
From a future king to the daughter of international sports stars, we take a look at her close squad of young royals.
Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, 11 months
The princess was momentarily upstaged when her uncle Harry and Meghan Markle had their first child, Archie Harrison, on May 6, 2019.
Charlotte and George were pictured hanging out with their baby cousin at a charity polo match last July.
However, rumours of a rift between the Sussexes and Cambridges might mean that future play dates are off the cards – not to mention the fact that Hazza, Meghan and Archie have upped sticks and moved to California.
We predict the next time Charlotte is reunited with her cousin, his favourite word will be “awesome” and he’ll be wearing baseball caps.
Maud Windsor, six
The daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor, 41 (the son of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent) and Sophie Winkleman, 39 (Claudia Winkleman’s sister and Big Suze in Peep Show).
Cousin Maud began at prestigious Thomas’s Battersea school the same year as Prince George, and ever since Charlotte joined last September, we like to imagine the royal rebels rule the playground.
Charlotte, Maud and George have also no doubt bonded over the indignity of wearing ruffle-sleeves as bridesmaids and pageboy at Princess Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018.
Now Beatrice’s wedding has been postponed, they’ll at least be spared the, er, “directional” hats she might have had them wear.
Savannah Phillips, nine, and Isla Phillips, eight
Charlotte’s second cousins are the children of Peter (Princess Anne’s son) and Autumn Phillips and also the Queen’s great granddaughters (now’s the time to get fighting over the best jewels, guys).
The mischievous sisters are often seen having fun with their royal cousins and certainly made us giggle when, at Trooping the Colour in 2018, Savannah nearly broke the internet for pushing Prince George down a hill, before covering his mouth with her hand to get him to be quiet during the national anthem.
Like Charlotte, both Savannah and Isla were roped into being bridesmaids at Eugenie’s wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, where Savannah also got to carry the bouquet.
She then repaid the favour by standing on Eugenie’s wedding dress while the photos were being taken. Oops.
Mia Tindall, six
Another cousin, Mia is the daughter of rugby player Mike Tindall and Olympic horse rider Zara Phillips (Princess Anne’s only daughter).
Mia quickly became known for her bubbly personality when she was spotted holding the Queen’s handbag in Her Majesty’s official 90th birthday portrait in 2016.
Apparently, she wasn’t about to nick great-g-ma’s goods, as Mike later revealed she was just being “a bit naughty” during the photo shoot – LOLs.
Mia and Charlotte are also regularly pictured laughing together at events.
Prince George, six, and Prince Louis, two
There’s no one you can lean on like your own brother (unless you’re William and Harry right now. Awks), and Charlotte and her siblings are tight.
Although George might be the future king, Charlotte is apparently the most confident.
Being the middle child, she’s learned from George’s mistakes on royal tours (no shunning high-fives from foreign leaders for her, she always politely shakes hands) and is protective of her little bro Louis, while letting her own brand of cheekiness shine through.
From their perfectly coordinated outfits in official portraits to the sweet video of them clapping for our carers, the Cambridge brood are royally close.
