THE Queen will NOT attend one of her favourite events in Scotland tomorrow, it is understood.

Her Majesty, 96, will miss the Braemar Highland Games on Saturday, with Prince Charles swooping in to replace her at the last minute.

It is understood the decision has been taken for the comfort of the head of state, who has been suffering from mobility problems since last year.

She last attended the event in 2019, joining 15,000 cheering spectators alongside Charles for the annual gathering.

Today’s news comes just days after it was confirmed the monarch will formally appoint the next Prime Minister at Balmoral in a historic first.

The Queen arrived in Scotland last month for her ten-week summer break.
