PRINCE Andrew has missed Royal Ascot today providing ‘hope’ to the monarchy that he will give up royal life, according to a journalist.
The 62-year-old Duke of York was due to attend the Berkshire horse racing event this week, joining other members of the Firm in a carriage procession.
Writing in the The Times, Valentine Low, has said that the decision not to attend Ascot has has shown he is finally listening.
Mr Low said: “The Duke of York’s decision not to attend Royal Ascot this week has given the royal family hope that he is finally listening to sense.
“After the shambles surrounding the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle on Monday, however, he decided to stay away. It was all done “without fuss”, a source said.”
