A sweet royal portrait has been released to mark the start of a new decade, featuring the Queen beaming next to Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.

While Her Majesty, 93, stands front and centre of the family shot, its little George, six, who steals the show with a cheeky smile, standing on the steps next to her. 

A smartly-dressed Prince Charles, 71, has a protective hand on his grandsons shoulder, while Prince William, 37, stands behind the Queen.  

The new portrait of the Queen and three future kings was taken by photographer Ranald Mackechnie in the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday December 18.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry kindly offered a helping hand to a couple who were struggling to take a picture with a selfie stick.

The Duke and Duchess approached Iliya Pavlovic and Asymina Kantorowicz while they were hiking through Vancouver Island’s Horth Hill Regional Park on New Year’s Day.

It was only after she thought that Meghan’s Suits co-star Abigail Spencer – who the pair had been holidaying with – looked familiar that Asymina realize who she was speaking too.

The hiker said she “froze up” at the shock of meeting Harry and Meghan, adding that the Duchess was “super friendly.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted a link to a list of resources Australians can access before the catastrophic fires are set to worsen this weekend.

The royal couple praised the “heroic” emergency services who are continuing to battle the blazes which have already claimed 18 lives.

They wrote: “Our followers in Australia can find out the latest information on the fires by following the accounts on this list.

“As the devastating fires continue our thoughts remain with those impacted and those working heroically to fight them.”

Princess Beatrice is rethinking her wedding plans to avoid “embarrassment” over the cost of her sister Eugenie’s big day, a royal expert has claimed.

Appearing on Lorraine, royal correspondent Jennie Bond said Beatrice‘s wedding is likely to be less lavish affair than her younger sister’s.

Jennie explained: “I think they’re going to have to rethink the arrangements for Beatrice‘s wedding.

“She’s marrying a man called Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and I think they were planning something along the lines of Eugenie‘s wedding.”

In more Royal Family news, Meghan Markle included a sweet photo with Kate as one of her 2019 highlights.

And Meghan and Prince Harry rung in the New Year by hitting 10m Instagram followers – but Kate Middleton and Prince William are still ahead.
