STRICTLY’S Neil Jones and Alex Scott have laughed off romance rumours – but admitted they love being compared to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The 35-year-old footballer was partnered with the 37-year-old professional dancer for this year’s series of the BBC One dance show – just days after he announced his split from wife Katya.
But despite speculation, the pair have insisted that there is nothing romantic going on between them, and that Neil is still close to his ex-wife who also stars in the show.
Addressing the romance rumours, Neil told Hello! magazine: “Theres nothing on our minds but the show we dont have time to think about anything else
“Im single but I havent even thought about dating. Coming out of a long-term relationship Im just focusing on Strictly.”
Alex added: “Im single but its not like I need to find someone. I like things to happen organically and if someone comes into my life and we get on, then great.
“Its not like I need to go searching for it.”
However, the pair went on to admit that they are regularly compared to a famous married couple, with the two stars sharing an uncanny resemblance to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Alex revealed: “We’ve had that a lot.
“From the moment we were paired its like, look at those two, Harry and Meghan.”
Embracing the comments, Neil joked that some day the two could even become professional lookalikes for the royal couple.
The ginger hunk also insisted that he and Katya are still incredibly close having been together for 11 years, and married for six, before their August split.
Last year, The Sun Online revealed that Katya had been spotted snogging her Strictly celebrity partner Seann Walsh after a late night in London.
Neil forgave the Russian beauty at the time, but they broke up less than one year later.
