EVERY child dreams of having their own life-sized wendy house to play in but luckily for the royal kids, they have one in their very own garden.

The Queen, 94, was gifted the playhouse when she was just six-years old and living at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, and now her great-grandchildren Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two play in it.

The huge playhouse is complete with running water, electricity, a fully-functioning kitchen and bathroom, and a living room and bedroom and The Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, and her sister Princess Margaret spent much of their childhood playing in it.

Eighty years on and the playhouse is still in the gardens the Royal Lodge, where the Duke of York now lives, with Prince Andrew’s daughter Princess Beatrice admitting the Queen still “still comes back to visit”.

But it’s not just the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s kids who get to experience the fun.

Having grown up at the Royal Lodge herself, Princess Beatrice previously spoke about her own experience at the playhouse and revealed that she even helped her “granny” renovate it in 2012.

Andrew Marr on the documentary The Diamond Queen, she revealed: “Granny and her sister played here growing up and we’ve been lucky enough to play here with cousins and second cousins and it’s a big family treat,

Admitting it’s the “most glamorous wendy house ever” Princess Beatrice said the playhouse has now been “completely rethatched” and has “new curtains and new wiring”

“A bit of a spruce up really,” she added, “All the little china and glass was created especially for the house.”

Speaking of her grandmother, The Queen, she said: “She still likes to come back and visit. Granny was very clear that for all the fabric she wanted very little designs.

“It’s such a little house that she wanted little flowers and patterns. It’s beautiful. I’ve been lucky enough to play here and now Granny’s a great-granny, so now the great-grandchildren can enjoy it too.”

The house was gifted by the Welsh people in 1932, despite the royal family usually unable to accept public gifts.

But since the playhouse was given to the Queen herself, and not the Royal Collection Trust, she was able to keep it.
