IT is very much business as usual for the Queen as she continues working despite the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe.

And yesterday, the monarch appointed her cousin, Lady Elizabeth Shakerly, as commander of the Royal Victorian Order as the Court Circular showed in its records.

The Court Circular which is the register recording every official duty carried out by members of the Royal Family, recorded the entry dated March 31, and read:  “The Lady Elizabeth Shakerley has been appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order by The Queen today and has received the Insignia.”

While other entries detail how the engagement was carried out by the self-isolating royals, the records don’t indicate whether this appointment took place face-to-face, over the phone or via video chat.

According to Express, the Court Circular states that, for example, Princess Anne “participated in a meeting with the Lord Levy and Mr Richard Kramer via a conference call” on March 31.

Similarly, Prince William “held a meeting via telephone” with the CEO of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
