MEGHAN Markle’s dad sent his congratulations to the Queen on her Platinum Jubilee – as Harry and Meghan stayed quiet.

Thomas Markle,76, wished the monarch “good health and good will” as she marked her 70 years on the throne

It comes as his estranged daughter Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37, chose not to make any statement to honour the Queen.

Thomas told HOAR: “I would like to congratulate Her Majesty the Queen on her Jubilee and wish her good health and good will for many years to come.”

Meanwhile the Sussexes’ communications channels remained silent – despite them naming their daughter Lilibet in honour of the Queen.

There was no mention of the Queen marking 70 years since she became monarch when her father King George VI.

Nor was there anything on the news that Camilla will become Queen Consort when Charles is eventually made King.

Her Majesty made the historic statement confirm she wishes the Duchess of Cornwall to be fully acknowledged when her eldest son takes the throne.

Movingly, she signed the address to Brits: “Your servant, Elizabeth R.”

Charles and Camilla said they were “touched and honoured” by the gesture, while the Prince of Wales paid tribute to his “darling wife” and said he was “deeply conscious of the honour”.

But almost 24 hours after the news was revealed, the Sussexes are yet to speak publicly from their £11million mansion in exclusive Montecito, California.

The couple rarely post on social media but have used their Archewell foundation’s website to make statements in the past.

Interventions on issues such as Covid vaccines and climate change have also appeared on the site.

Harry was expected to extend an olive branch to the rest of the royal family during the jubilee.

But his silence suggests the rift caused by his departure to the US in 2020 could be as deep as ever.

It is still believed that he will travel from his home to take part in the official celebrations in June this year.

Despite the lack of public response, Harry is understood to have been enjoying video calls with his father over the past few weeks.

And insiders have claimed Harry also had a conversation with his dad prior to the Queen’s statement, the Daily Mail reports.

The conversation comes after fears of a rift between the Duke of Sussex and his father after Harry quit the Royal Family with Meghan Markle.

The Duke was said to have “barely spoken” with his father last year, as their relations plummeted to “an all time low” after Harry claimed in an explosive interview with Oprah that his dad had cut him off.

Months later, he said his family had shown “total neglect” for his mental health.

Harry was also claimed to have triggered a “tsunami of fear” in Buckingham Palace when he revealed he would be releasing an autobiography.
