A DECORATED Special Boat Service war hero who served in Afghanistan with Prince Harry slammed his disgusting lack of respect for the Queen.

James Glancy an ex-captain in the Royal Marines said he and others would not raise a toast to their ceremonial head if he tried to cash in on his royal position with commercial ventures.

The ex-Commando, who won the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross in 2013 for courage and leadership during three campaigns in Afghanistan, praised Harry for his work with the military. But he said his behaviour over the past year was not appropriate for the Royal Marines Captain General.

He slammed him for not discussing his plans beforehand with the Queen and warned of the dangers of trying to privatise the monarchy with his American wife Meghan.

Mr Glancy said: We have so much respect for the royals because theyve dedicated their lives to the country and they serve and never ask for commercial opportunities or anything else.

They served our country and they hold patronages as a result of their birth right. Harrys been a great public servant. Hes done two tours of Afghanistan. I was there for one of his tours.

Hes done brilliant work in charity since hes left the Armed Forces, especially with the Invictus Games and other charities.

But his behaviour in the last year is not becoming of somebody that holds these important positions, these patronages including that of the Captain General.

‘VERY UPSET’

Speaking to Nigel Farage on LBC, he went on: Now Ive spoken to some other Royal Marines and other people in the military and they are very upset, if not disgusted, by the disrespect to the Queen by not discussing this.

Everybody agrees that if he wants to leave these positions and go abroad with his wife, hes absolutely entitled to have another life, and hes entitled to live overseas.

But you cant do this half and half. Youre either in or out. And whats even worse is the thought of this privatisation of the monarchy.

Everyone was up in arms when they talked about the privatisation of the NHS so people are of course up in arms about an American wanting to privatise the monarchy. Its not acceptable and you either do one or the other.

You dont sit as Captain General and think you can make millions of pounds because that opportunity isnt available to a soldier on 20,000 a year.

They cant turn up to their boss and say, Im going to live in another country but do you mind still paying me?

If Harry goes down this route of semi-privatising his role I wouldnt raise a toast to him as he wouldnt have my respect.

Mr Glancy added: In the military you are paid a small amount of money and you serve your country because thats what you sign up to do.

You dont get paid and then decide to have a career on the side.

Thats not how it works and not how it works being a royal.

Meanwhile, it was claimed Harry appeared angry and unhappy at a dinner party before his familys Canada break last year.

Former Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman says he was snappy with guests due to his foul mood at the bash last autumn.

Harry was guest of honour at the private event in London, aimed at increasing support for one of his charities.

But he got frustrated with questions about Meghan, who was at home with baby Archie.

Writing in the Mail On Sunday, Shulman said: He was annoyed by other guests asking where his wife was, and snapped back that she was at home with Archie, which was where he should be.

Guests came away thinking this was a young man who was unhappy and angry, and he didnt mind letting everyone know.

She added: For those who were at that dinner, it was startlingly obvious something serious was up.
