Why Meghan's Netflix Show Makes Me Want to Throw My Remote at the TV

God, I tried. I really tried to get through Meghan Markle's new Netflix cooking show without rolling my eyes so hard they fell out of my head.

But here's teh thing - after watching all eight episodes of "With Love, Meghan" (yes, I hate myself for it), I'm left wondering what the actual point was. And apparently I'm not alone in this existential crisis.

Broadcaster Esther Krakue absolutely demolished the show on HOAR's Royal Exclusive, and honestly? She said what we were all thinking but were too polite to say out loud.

The Personality Vacuum Problem

"There's nothing there," Esther said, and I felt that in my soul. "She's not an entertainer or an entertaining person. There's not much personality there."

Listen. I watch lifestyle shows religiously. Martha Stewart could teach me how to fold napkins for 3 hours and I'd be glued to the screen. But Meghan making guest baskets and beeswax candles at some fancy farmhouse near her £12million Montecito mansion? I learned absolutely nothing. Zero. Zilch.

The show featured her celebrity friends like Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer, plus her wedding makeup artist Daniel Martin. They made single skillet spaghetti and decorated cakes, but it all felt so... sterile? Like watching someone perform "having fun" rather than actually having it.

What We Actually Want to Know (But Never Will)

Esther nailed it when she said: "I want to know, how did you bag a prince? What did you do? What were the techniques? Who's your waxing lady?"

EXACTLY. That's the content we're here for! But instead we get this sanitized version of domesticity that feels about as authentic as a three-dollar bill.

"She's so terrified to tell the public" anything interesting, Esther pointed out. And that's exactly why the show falls flatter than a pancake made without baking powder.

The £78Million Question

Here's where it gets really wild.

Netflix apparently threw £78million at Harry and Meghan for a five-year deal. So far we've gotten their documentary series, the Invictus Games thing, Polo, and now this cooking show that's somehow been renewed for TWO more seasons.

Two. More. Seasons.

Esther thinks Netflix is having serious buyer's remorse: "I think two years into it, they realised they'd sunk money into the world's most boring couple that needed a lifetime supply of money to pay for their security."

But plot twist - apparently Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is still completely obsessed with Meghan. A source told MailOnline that he calls her "the rock star" and is "all in" on the Meghan business.

The Brutal Truth About Box Office Appeal

"You don't think this is the person I want to go to the pub with to have a pint with," Esther said, and honestly that's the most damning review I've ever heard.

Because that's what good TV hosts have - that quality that makes you feel like you're hanging out with your funniest friend. Whether it's Gordon Ramsay screaming about lamb sauce or Ina Garten being effortlessly elegant, the best food show hosts have something that draws you in.

Meghan just... doesn't.

"She doesn't have the energy of a host," Esther concluded. "She's very kind of drab and boring."

Poor Netflix. They're about to film season two this autumn (without Harry or the kids, naturally), and I'm already dreading having to watch it for professional reasons.

Maybe she'll prove us all wrong. But based on season one? I'm not holding my breath.
