EASTENDERS thankfully didn’t make fans wait too long to find out the identity of Lily Slater’s baby daddy – and the answer is set to devastate some of the Square’s biggest families.
Ricky Jr, the 12-year-old son of Sam Mitchell and Jack Branning (though she initially claimed the dad was Ricky Butcher… confusing), was confirmed by Lily on Wednesday evening to be behind her shock pregnancy.

Now the two kids – neither even in their teens yet – are faced with the prospect of becoming parents while they’re still children.
But the seeds had been planted for weeks, if fans had kept a look out.

Lily has been having a really rough time of it at school, struggling to find her place among kids her own age. She even fell out with Ricky’s sister Amy, with the pair ending their friendship.
At the time, Ricky was seen checking up on her, but it appeared nothing more than a concerned mate and brother.
But then, suddenly, it seemed that she had at least found some peace there, and was even seen giggling on the phone while texting.
While that could be an extremely active WhatsApp group of secret mates, a secret boyfriend – Ricky Jr. – seems like a far more likely sender.

Jean’s eerie prediction
Jean Slater is often dismissed on the series, but it turns out she predicted what would happen to Lily years ago.
In a clip that aired shortly after Lily was born, Jean was cooing over her new granddaughter in the Queen Vic alongside characters including Peggy Mitchell (the late Barbara Windsor).
“You never know, your grandson and our Lily might become sweethearts one day!” Jean beamed to the landlady. “Imagine that, another Slater/Mitchell wedding!”
