EASTENDERS viewers were left in tears after Sonia Fowler finally met Reiss’ wife and her tragic past is revealed.
Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) was left devastated after learning her lover Reiss Clowell (Jonny Freeman) was married to a woman named Debbie.

However, in tonight’s episode, Reiss took Sonia to meet his wife and learn the truth about her.
Reiss took Sonia into a care home where Debbie was lying in a hospital bed appearing to be in a coma.
Reiss kissed Debbie on the forehead as he introduced her to Sonia.
He told Sonia about the tragic event when Debbie suffered from a stroke while she was in the bath and almost drowned.
He revealed she can’t move or swallow and needs care you can’t give at home, hence why she’s in a care home.
Reiss then said Debbie suffered from “a significant bleed on the brain” and recently suffered a bad infection which is why the home has repeatedly called him.
Sonia learned that Reiss regularly visits her and calls her so she can hear his voice.
He then said he should have told Sonia about Debbie, but couldn’t find the words to tell the truth.
Later, outside Debbie’s room, Reiss thanked Sonia for coming with him and letting him explain and he then confessed his love for Sonia.
Sonia replied saying she’s feels sorry for both him and Debbie giving her situation, but she can’t forgive Reiss for not telling her about Debbie.
Sonia told him: “You climbed into my bed, moved into my house, and you let me believe it was us against the world.
“And it ain’t about whether I want to share you or not, or even what my life would look like with Debbie how she is.
“It ain’t even about what sort of man pretends his wife don’t exist. You did not tell me! You got caught out! So, I’m getting a cab home, on my own, because that isn’t love.”
Sonia then leaves in tears.
Viewers were left devastated after learning the heartbreaking truth about Reiss’ wife’s condition.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “Oh god now that is sad Reiss’s wife in a hospice.”
Another wrote: “reiss wife is in a hospital awful.”
A third penned: “Im sobbing at poor debbie.”
Meanwhile, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was also emotional as she received Mick Carter’s death certificate in the post.
She was left sobbing after she read “presumed death” at the top of the paperwork.
Also in the episode, Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) moved out of the Slater household and into his own “bachelor pad.”
Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) has also moved in with him – much to Alfie’s surprise.
