BBC EastEnders fans were left shocked after Sharon laid into Linda over her Queen Vic betrayal – before the new owner made a dramatic entrance.

Sharon – played by Letitia Dean – had been lead to believe that she would be Linda’s new co-owner of the pub where she grew up for weeks.

Linda had struggled to tell her friend she wouldn’t be the new co-owner of the Vic

However, a shifty Linda was hiding the fact she had in fact accepted an offer from someone else.

In tonight’s episode, Linda received a certificate for ex-husband Mick’s death, and Sharon was on hand to support her friend.

However, her kindness made it all the more difficult for Linda to tell her the truth.

While Sharon was away from the pub, the Panesar’s arrived to lock in the deal they thought they had secured with Linda.

She told them she had accepted another offer, and let them believe it was Sharon.

Later, when Sharon was back at the Vic, Linda eventually blurted out that they weren’t going to be co-owners after all.

Linda – played by Kellie Bright – insisted going into business together could ruin their friendship, and said she had sought a back up buyer in case Sharon didn’t come through with the money.

But Linda lied once more, saying she had only accepted the offer that morning, before the Panesar’s then revealed to Sharon Linda had told them she’d had it lined up for weeks.

Furious, Sharon said: “You just lied to my face! How could ya!”

She continued: “You’re pathetic! Never trust a drunk, or an ex-drunk.”

Linda – who has battled alcoholism in the past – was visibly wounded by her words, but said: “I’m going to forgive that because you’re upset.”

But Sharon wasn’t done, and spat: “You’re going to forgive me? You are unbelievable!”

Declaring their friendship over, the women were then stopped in their tracks when the doors to the Vic opened, and Linda said: “Mum! What are you doing here?”

Linda’s mum Elaine Peacock had entered the pub in a glamorous ensemble and said: “Well I thought it was time the Vic met it’s new Queen.”

As the EastEnders iconic ‘duff duff’s’ played, fans took to Twitter to comment on the latest drama between the women.

One wrote: “Oh dear Sharon is fuming with Linda!”

Another added: “Sharon has been through so much already I can’t.”

A third tweeted: “Oh Linda darling. Everyone is ganging up on her.”
