BALLUM fans have been left fearing that Callum will dump Ben after he lied about his involvement in Phil’s recent warehouse robbery.

But that hasn’t stopped viewers thinking there could be a wedding on the cards once Ben and Callum inevitably make up. But are the on-again-off-again couple really going to tie the knot? Here’s everything you need to know…

Max Bowden has hinted at a future Ballum wedding in EastEnders

Is Callum going to dump Ben in EastEnders?

EastEnders viewers know that Ben recently betrayed Callum by getting involved in his dad’s dodgy robbery – despite promising Callum that he’d leave his criminal life behind.

When Callum asked Ben about the incident, Ben lied and said he was with his daughter Lexi at the time of the robbery.

EastEnders are yet to confirm if Callum will discover the truth and split up with Ben, but that hasn’t stopped some fans wishing Callum would end the toxic relationship for good.

One fan tweeted: “#Ballum stans who think it’s ok for Ben to abuse Callum. Excusing it and hoping they split then get together!”

Another added: “Ben and Callum need to split up Such a toxic couple #EastEnders.”

Back in May, Max Bowden – who plays Ben on the BBC soap – told Digital Spy that the couple would be tested by Ben’s dodgy dealings in upcoming episodes.

The actor said: “They are two opposing sides of the law in reality and I think that is definitely going to cause potential for them to go to loggerheads and for their relationship to be tested.

“Callum can’t work and become what he wants to professionally if Ben is still taking part in the other side of the law.”

Do Ben and Callum have a future together in EastEnders?

Despite their differences, Max has backed a long-term future for his character and boyfriend Callum.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Max added: “I think the dynamic between Ben and Callum is really beautiful.

“Tony [Clay] and I really like working together and we really believe in their relationship and the two of them as a couple so I’d love to see it go long-term.”

“Callum has accepted Ben for who he is, but he accepted him for who he is in the hope that it would change. It’s down to Ben really to make that sacrifice.”

He added: “He made the decision to be okay about Callum joining the police and so in doing that he needs to make a decision within himself of what means more – the criminal underworld or his boyfriend.”

Are Ben and Callum going to get married one day in EastEnders?

During a recent Twitter Q&A hosted by Digital Spy, Max was asked whether there might be wedding bells in the future for his character and boyfriend Callum.

“Who knows? Who knows?” he replied. “Never say never.”

Despite their tumultuous relationship, most EastEnders fans are hoping for a Ballum wedding at some point in the future.

One fan tweeted: “Do you think there will be a Ballum wedding? If so who do you think will be the one to propose? Love watching Tony and you portray Callum and Ben, best characters in Eastenders!”

Another said: “Yeah they are so perfect I’m hoping we get a Ballum wedding.”

Another viewer tweeted: “I want a #ballum wedding but as long as Ben keeps putting Phil first not believing Callum truly loves him and keeps lying to Callum they aren’t ready to get married any time soon.”

But with wedding bells yet to be confirmed, fans will have to tune in to find out what’s in store for the couple.
