HEARTBROKEN after her short-lived marriage, Charity Dingle decided to move on from Mackenzie Boyd.

But a drunken evening leads her to a shocking new love interest next week in Emmerdale.

Charity Dingle put an end to her marriage

But she’s gutted to see Chloe and Mackenzie getting close

She finds solace in an unexpected villager

The Woolpack landlady portrayed by Emma Atkins was devastated when she learned that Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) was the father of Chloe Harris’ baby.

Unable to forgive and forget his months of lies, Charity ended their marriage and expressed her intention of filing for divorce, despite Mack’s pleas.

Since then, however, Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) decided to make it clear to Mackenzie that she was harbouring feelings for him.

Romance could definitely be on the cards for the pair as they get closer in scenes airing next week on ITV.

But Charity is gutted to watch them grow closer and soon finds another lonely soul to help her forget about things – Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).

The schemer is walking on eggshells in the eponymous village after his true intentions for Home Farm came to light.

Coming up, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is seething to find out Caleb’s taken up residence in the B&B.

Eager to prevent a fight and stop his father from getting into more trouble, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) suggests they let the family decide Caleb’s fate.

That same afternoon, the Dingle Court convenes to debate Caleb – Belle, Cain, Charity, Chas, Moira, Nate, Noah, Sam, Zak.

The court is thrown on its head when the defendant himself makes a surprise appearance, resolute he’s staying in the village.

Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is left on her own to deter Cain from revenge the following day.

Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), on the other hand, rejects Caleb when he tries to apologise.

Discarded by the wedding planner, Caleb finds himself in Charity’s home a free agent as she offers him a drink.

Before long, they bond over wine and find solace in each other – but they agree to keep their night a secret from everybody in the Dales.

Unfortunately, things only get worse from there for Caleb.

After a tense altercation with a humiliated Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), Caleb invites Leyla to lunch in the pub.

Just as Leyla begins to forgive him, a bust up between Charity and Mackenzie leads to the shock revelation that Caleb spent the night with Charity and the information captures the attention of the entire pub.

A jealous Mack squares up to Caleb and all hell breaks loose.

Cain’s unimpressed to hear what Charity has done and an altercation ensues as Caleb goads Cain.

Moira and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) pull Cain away but the tough man isn’t the only villager who wants to throw punches at Caleb.

A while later, Caleb further enrages Mack, who only came to apologise for the previous day.

Burning with fury, Mack ominously assures him there will be consequences.

That afternoon, the villagers all unite against Caleb during a tense altercation in the pub.

Squaring up to them all Caleb takes verbal pot shots at each of them.

Exasperated with the spectacle, Chas throws him out whilst the others glare bloody murder.

Caleb walks away but unbeknownst to him, a mystery figure follows his every move.

When a blindsided Caleb is pushed over the edge of a woodland ridge by a mysterious figure, Mackenzie Boyd is one of the main suspects.

But could he be to blame?

Will Charity’s night with Caleb seal their fate?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
