Coronation Street and Brookside legend Louis Emerick lands first Hollywood role alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger

SOAP legend Louis Emerick, who played Mick Johnson in Brookside for 12 years, has landed his first Hollywood role alongside A-listers Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Fassbender. 

Kung Fury 2 is the sequel to the 2015 English-language Swedish martial arts comedy featurette film, written and directed by David Sandberg. 

Louis has starred in a string of British soaps

Louis is somewhat of a British acting legend having appeared as Trevor in the feature film Layer Cake with Daniel Craig, and spending 12 years as Mick Johnson in Brookside. 

He also had a recurring role of PC Walsh in Last of the Summer Wine and has just been seen in new BBC2 comedy series The Other One. 

But he’s now gone from soap land to LaLa Land as he’s just finished filming on the Hollywood movie Kung Fury 2.

While it’s not clear what role Louis plays in the film, he will be appearing alongside Terminator icon Arnold Swarzenegger and MacBeth star Michael Fassbender.

The new film is set in 1985 where Miami is kept safe under the watchful eye of Kung Fury and his Thundercops. 

Thundercops is the ultimate police force assembled from across history to defeat the villainous Kung Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. 

After the tragic death of one of  the Thundercops the group disbands and a mysterious villain emerges from the shadows to aid in the Fuhrer’s quest to attain the ultimate weapon. 

Kung Fury must travel through space and time to save his friends, defend the prestigious Miami Kung Fu Academy, and defeat evil once and for all.

Michael Fassbender will star as Colt Magnum, Kung Fury’s new partner, while Arnold Schwarzenegger plays The President.
