CORONATION Street fans are convinced Geoff Metcalfe abused Tim’s mother after he tried to attack Alya Nazir for digging into his past.
The abusive DJ – who is played by actor Ian Bartholomew in the ITV soap – reacted violently when Alya told him she had a made a request under Claire’s Law to get information about any past crimes he has committed.
Claire’s Law allows people to find out any information about their partners relating to past abuse in relationships from the police.
On hearing what Alya had done, Geoff let his mask slip and raged at her.
Alya told him: “I’ve been in contact with the police under Claire’s Law. You can lie as much as you want but the truth will always come out.”
He shouted: “I’ve had enough of this, coming round here and trying to make me look bad. How dare you go digging around in my past.
“You really are a nasty little cow, aren’t you? You’ve hated me since day one. I’ve had it up to here with you. I’m warning you keep your nose out of my business or I will lose my temper and you really will regret it.”
At that moment Yasmeen walked in and seeing her granddaughter in danger snapped her out of Geoff’s control.
She grabbed his arm and pushed him away from Alya warning him: “Get away from my granddaughter now.”
But the way Geoff reacted to Alya mentioning Claire’s Law had fans convinced Geoff has seriously abused before – with Tim’s mum as his victim.
One wrote: “Geoff has such a temper, he definitely abused Tim’s mum.”
A second said: “The way that Geoff just snaps is terrifying – his mask is slipping.”
