CORONATION Street fans are convinced Toyah Battersby is going to prison.

The counsellor – who is played by actress Georgia Taylor in the ITV soap – faced her murder trial tonight after she killed her husband Imran Habeeb in a car accident.

Coronation Street fans are convinced Toyah is going to prison

In tonight’s episode, Toyah appeared in court charged with Imran’s murder.

Viewers know that she deliberately crashed the car after becoming enraged at Imran’s lies.

He cost her the chance to raise baby Alfie, adopt toddler Elsie and a happy home life.

But in court she managed to hold it together as Imran’s estranged mum Saira lied and painted her as a scheming wife determined to kill her husband.

Toyah even took to the stand and defended herself – although she came close to lying about what happened.

Her sister Leanne ended up screaming that she was innocent in a desperate attempt to save her sister.

But when they got home, Toyah was crestfallen.

“I have got nothing to feel positive about,” she told Leanne who had pointed out that Spider Nugent hadn’t turned up to testify about her murder confession.

“It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter who said what, or if the jury think I’m a cold-blooded killer. It doesn’t matter.

“Imran’s dead. And he’s dead because of me. Whatever the jury decides that doesn’t change.

“He’s dead and I killed him. And I have to live with that forever.”

And fans think Toyah will be going to prison.

One wrote: “Something tells me Toyah’s going down.”

A second said: “Guilty as charged unless Toyah can persuade the jury.”

Another added: “Toyah lying in court is so coming back to bite her on the ass surely?”
