CORONATION Street fans are horrified after Stephen Reid tried to murder another victim tonight.

The serial killer – who is played by actor Todd Boyce in the ITV soap – has already killed twice before.

Stephen Reid’s murdering ways have returned

He was set to kill Rufus with a hole punch but Michael disturbed him

He claimed his first victim, Leo Thompkins, by pushing him off the high walkway in Underworld’s loading dock, before stuffing him in a bin and dumping him elsewhere.

And when Leo’s dad Teddy discovered the truth, Stephen killed him too.

He smashed him over the head with a hole punch machine and then stuffed his body into a suitcase before getting his unwitting neighbours to help him move to body.

Viewers also know how Stephen has drugged and terrorised Carla Connor into thinking she’s suffered a psychotic break.

She is currently safe – if heavily medicated – in a specialist mental health clinic.

But that hasn’t stopped murderous Stephen’s ambitions.

Tonight, Rufus returned and made it clear he expected Stephen to pay up for him to keep his secret drugging of Carla exactly that.

However as Rufus pushed for an exclusive deal with Underworld, Stephen lost control.

Picking up his weapon of choice – the hole punch – Stephen went to beat Rufus to death.

But as he was about to strike the killer blow, Michael Bailey walked in and shouted his name – stunning him into stopping his plan.

Viewers were shocked at Stephen’s reckless actions.

One wrote: “Mr Nasty at it again, how many is he going to kill before they discover a serial murderer!”

A second said: “Michael unwittingly saves Rufus’ life!”

Another added: “Just in the nick of time, that hole punch is Stephen’s favourite toy.”
