CORONATION Street fans are terrified for Roy Cropper after he suffered a health crisis tonight.

The cafe owner – who is played by actor David Neilson in the ITV soap – has been feeling off for weeks but suffered a period of breathlessness this week forcing him to make an appointment at the doctors.

Roy was told his blood pressure was high when he went to see the GP

He confessed he had been concerned about his breathless episodes

“Your blood pressure is quite high,” Dr Gaddas told him in tonight’s episode.

“So is the high blood pressure connected to the funny turns, doctor?” Roy asked.

But Dr Gaddas told him it was unlikely.

Roy told her: “I’ve been experiencing it for several weeks and initially it was just mild discomfort.

“I am accustomed to aches and pains and creaking joints. I have been somewhat alarmed, I have a niece to think of you see.

“The breathlessness was unprecedented which is why I resolved to make this appointment.”

Trying to put him at ease, the GP told him: “But this is a new pain and I’m sure your mind has been going to all sorts of places.

“I’m sure that we can get to the bottom of it so I’m going to book you in for some further tests at the hospital.”

Later Roy went to Evelyn to confide in her and ask her to dog sit his dog Freddie – but she refused.

Instead she made it very clear that she would be coming with him to support him.

“It’s non-negotiable Roy, I’m coming,” she told him but it was clear that she’s terrified for what the future holds for Roy.

And viewers are worried for the cobbles legend in his health crisis.

One wrote: “Corrie cannot kill Roy off, hearts will break, people will suffer, days of mourning will be had.”

A second said: “Please make Roy better praying it’s just the dog allergy as can cause the symptoms he has.”

Another added: “DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT KILLING OFF OUR ROY!!!”

Roy confided in Evelyn who vowed to join him at the hospital
