CORONATION Street legend Al Nedjari has been spotted looking unrecognisable as he made a rare film appearance.

The TV star – who left the soap more than 28 years ago – was spotted by fans in new Netflix movie The Strays.

Al played Samir Rachid in the soap back in the 1990s

Now he has been spotted in Netflix film The Strays

Viewers of the new film flooded social media as they recognised the actor who played Samir Rachid in Corrie.

But now, fans have spotted him in Netflix thriller The Strays, where he plays the manager of a creepy hotel.

The film, set in a quaint suburban town, sees strange things start to happen as two strangers arrive for a visit.

Taking to social media over the weekend, shocked fans couldn’t believe their eyes after spotting the former soap legend.

One fan posted: “Watched The Strays on Netflix last night and guess who had a bit part as the hotel manager?”

While another simply posted: “Samir!” as a third said: “Is that Samir, Deirdre’s husband?”

Al looked noticeably different than his soap-star days as he donned a bushy greying beard and longer curlier hair during his latest role.

Al played toy boy Samir, who wed Cobbles icon Deirdre Barlow and was involved in some of the soap’s biggest 90s plot lines.

One controversial storyline saw Samir tragically murdered in a brutal gang attack, which saw him quit the soap in 1995.

Since then, he has appeared in a number of stage roles before making a comeback to the screen in minor acting jobs.

Among them was a role in Netflix’s Bridgerton, where he portrayed one of the Lord’s in waiting.
