SOAP boss Iain MacLeod has teased some drama-packed storylines due on our screens in upcoming months.

One high profile Coronation Street lady will embark on a shocking affair with a thug from the cobbles.

One fan favourite Corrie character will embark on a shocking affair

And she’ll be falling for Damon Hay

The thug rocked up the cobbles in recent weeks

Jacob Hay was ready to give up his old drug-dealing ways and get his act together.

But the arrival of his estranged father Damon Hay turns all of his plans on their head.

As witnessed by ITV viewers, the newcomer portrayed by Ciarán Griffiths is up to no good.

And according to Corrie producer Iain MacLeod, Damon will be bringing a lot more trouble in matters of the heart for one popular female character.

The latter will be falling for Damon in the early summer of 2023.

“There’s something about a bad boy isn’t there”, Iain said while speaking to HOAR.

The producer mentioned the affair will be having “far-reaching consequences” in the cobbles.

“As the year goes on, he has a magnetic attraction for a notable high profile female character who ends up having her head turned which has far-reaching consequences.”

Iain MacLeod added that June storylines are in the works and will include a build-up leading to a colossal explosion in Damon’s love storyline.

“Really excited about Ciaran’s presence”, Iain continued, “much like Damon, he has a sense of danger and magnetism in his performance.”

“Really riveting stuff. We’re pleased to have him.”

But who could Damon set his sights on?

While that remains to be seen, viewers have been warned to expect a lot of drama from him.

“He’s dangerous, he first might seem more sophisticated than his brother Harvey, he’s less of a blunt instrument”, Iain added.

“But what we discover in the not too distant future is that
more polished, jovial veneer masks something every bit as dangerous and brutal as Harvey.”

As mentioned above, Damon is dragging his son Jacob back into risky business, while the lad was desperate to remain on the straight and narrow.

He also recently took over the Bistro as Leanne and Nick were scared for their finances.

What does Damon have in store for Weatherfield residents?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.

What chaos will Damon bring?

And how will Jacob cope?
