CORONATION Streets Rob Mallard was spotted filming Sinead Tinkers funeral scenes in Manchester over the weekend.

The actor, who plays Sineads husband Daniel on the ITV soap, put on a brave face as he joined other cast members in the pouring rain.

Bill Roache, who stars as Ken Barlow, appeared in a sombre mood as they arrived at the location in the bad weather.

Colson Smith Sineads cousin Craig Tinker looked dapper in a three piece suit as he too shielded himself from the rain.

Vicar Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank, brought a little light relief to the proceedings as did Chesney actor Sam Aston who had a little laugh.

This week viewers were left heartbroken as Sinead finally lost her battle to cervical cancer.

The hard-hitting episode began with Sinead drifting in and out of consciousness in her bedroom after refusing to see out her final days in a hospice.

Surrounded by husband Daniel auntie Beth, and son Bertie, Sinead battled side-effects and illness as she slowly accepted her fate.

The episode ended with Billy sharing a prayer over Sinead’s body while the other characters were shown coming to terms with the news.

In real life the cast have struggled with the hard hitting storyline and Sinead actress Katie McGlynn revealed she needed counselling after filming.

She said: “I was sitting on my sofa watching the programme in which Sinead is told she has weeks to live, and I started to cry.

The next day I just kept crying. I couldnt stop. I ended up going to see a counsellor who told me that I was mourning Sinead.

A month later I still feel like Im really mourning her. It feels like waves of sadness coming over me.

“One minute Ill be all right, then the next Im in tears. It might sound weird, but to me Sinead has always been real.”
