AUDREY Roberts keeps thwarting her son Stephen Reid’s plans and it could backfire on her.

The murderous Coronation Street villain doesn’t shy away from plotting against the hairdresser next week.

How far is Stephen Reid willing to go for money?

Next week, he plots against his own mother once again

And he asks for help from his estranged wife Gabrielle, from who he stole

Will Stephen Reid make another victim in the cobbles?

In recent weeks, the businessman played by Canadian actor Todd Boyce proved he will stop at nothing to keep his unlawful scheming a secret.

With him being ready to commit literal murder, ITV viewers have expected him to become Weatherfield’s next serial killer.

And his own elderly mother, portrayed by Sue Nicholls, could definitely be one of his next victims.

Next week, Stephen can’t believe his luck when the hairdresser hands him her phone, trusting him to turn off all notifications as it’s driving her mad.

Later on, he meets up with his estranged wife Gabrielle (Helene Maksoud) who has also been a thorn in his side, and tells her he’s expecting the mortgage broker to call on his mother’s phone.

To make sure she gets all of Audrey’s money, Stephen asks Gabrielle to impersonate her.

Convinced that he’s finally going to get his hands on Audrey’s equity release money, he tells his sister Gail Platt (Helen Worth) that he’s ready to move on from the Street since Audrey’s health is clearly on the mend.

However, he’s shocked by an announcement from Audrey who, once again, turns his plan on its head.

There’s another shock for Stephen when both Audrey and Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) suggest they could see the Northern Lights in Canada – and stay in one of his properties to save money.

Stephen is thrown into a panic and, to scupper their Canadian plan, convinces Gail that the weather is too harsh for them.

Instead, he suggests booking them a cruise to Norway.

But does he have more in mind?

Audrey previously trusted her son Stephen to take charge of her fortune by storing her money in a trust fund and leaving him to keep hold of it.

She changed her plans and eventually agreed to give out her money in equal sharings to members of her family… with the exception of Stephen who is thought to be well off.

How far will he go?

Could Audrey really be in mortal danger?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.

Stephen has already murdered one Weatherfield resident

Could his family find out what he’s really up to?
