DAVID Platt is set for more heartbreak as he’s mugged by a gang of thieves after Gail has a go at him for betraying his wife Shona.
David is set to cheat on fragile Shona – who suffered brain damage after the Christmas shooting – by sleeping with Alina.
Corrie viewers watched David’s world come crashing down when his wife Shona was shot last Christmas by an unhinged Derek Milligan during his violent rampage.
While in hospital, her health took a turn for the worse and she ended up in a coma – much to her family’s dismay.
To make matters worse, when Shona woke up it became clear she’d suffered from memory loss and couldn’t remember who David was.
After moving to a clinic in Leeds, David was stunned when Shona began to refuse to see him.
He received a further blow when he discovered that she’s been in contact with her murderer son Clayton.
Spoilers have revealed that David goes off the rails and sleeps with Alina this week in Corrie in a desperate effort to get over his wife after she demands a divorce.
In episodes of Coronation Street set to air next week, Gail’s shocked to hear that David has been seeing Alina and is quick to stick her oar in, having a go at David for betraying his wife.
David is furious and storms out onto the streets.
But as he’s wandering along, two muggers grab him and drag him into an alleyway.
He’s shell shocked as they pull out a knife on him, but eventually manages to push them off and run away.
As he’s chased, he climbs up a fire escape to get away.
Back home, David bottles everything up and doesn’t tell Nick or Gail about the mugging.
Later, David finds Alina in the cafe and apologises for using her.
They both agree they need a fresh start.
