But her plan backfired
After aiming to elope with Aadi Alahan, Kelly Neelan (played by Millie Gibson) found out the truth about her father Rick’s death.
The news came as a shock betrayal as Gary Windass (Mikey North), a man who gave her a safe place away from her troubled past, turned out to be the loan shark’s murderer.
The pair eventually came face to face and their confrontation had shocking consequences.
Next week, Gary is still reeling from the aftermath of his showdown with Kelly… just as Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) tells him he needs his help in convincing Aadi there’s no future for him and Kelly.
Dev has tried to stop Aadi from tying the knot with Kelly for several weeks and his son being in hospital won’t stop him from breaking them apart.
While visiting the youngster in hospital, Dev makes out that Kelly confided in Gary that she doesn’t love him anymore, leaving Aadi devastated.
Meanwhile, Gary is hauled in for police questioning over the shooting – will he hold his nerve?
Heartbroken, Aadi tells his twin sister Asha and Nina Lucas that, according to Dev and Gary, Kelly put on an act and never really loved him.
As mentioned above, Aadi and Kelly were planning on getting to the closest Scottish village to get married after faking an engagement to win a competition organised by the local Weatherfield Gazette.
The pair went on to celebrate their engagement during a party which led to Kelly trying to get revenge on Gary for murdering her father.
Kelly was previously told her late mother Laura killed the ruthless loan shark.
Laura Neelan passed away from cancer after taking the blame for Rick’s death in an attempt to bring her daughter some stability.
But nobody’s secrets are safe in the cobbles – will Gary have to fully come clean about his actions?
