THERE’s still trouble in paradise for Amy Barlow and Jacob Hay.
Their relationship continues to ruffle some feathers in Coronation Street and Leanne Battersby makes her disapproval known.
After her spiking horror, Amy (played by Elle Mulvaney) remains determined to get her boyfriend Jacob (Jack James Ryan) accepted by her family.
In upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, due on our screens next week, Amy arranges lunch in the Bistro with her parents Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).

But when the 18-year-old makes an entrance with Jacob in tow, Steve and Tracy’s jaws hit the floor, with the latter threatening to walk out.
Despite wanting to pull them apart in previous episodes, Steve is more accepting and points out that Amy is an adult and is therefore allowed to see whoever she wants.
However, Leanne (Jane Danson) is horrified to spot the happy couple and reminds them that Jacob almost destroyed her family by grooming her adoptive son Simon (Alex Bain) into criminal activity.
This isn’t the first time Leanne tells Amy she doesn’t approve of the relationship as she has already scolded her for their bond in recent scenes after they hit the town for Valentine’s Day.
Yet Amy and Jacob are determined to stick together and admit they’re in love as soon as the meal ends.
Matters go from bad to worse when, outside, a fight between Jacob and Simon breaks out and the young criminal punches his opponent.
Following the fight, Steve asserts that Amy will have to choose between her relationship and her family.
Jacob is struggling to fall into the Barlows’ good graces after he manipulated Simon into believing he owed a serious debt to drug dealing boss Harvey Gaskell.
However, when Amy was accidentally spiked by Max Turner (who was actually targeting Weatherfield High teacher Daniel Osbourne), Jacob was the first to react.
Jacob saved her life by laying her down in the lateral security position.
Amy initially broke up with Jacob but couldn’t deny her feelings for him and decided to giver their relationship another go.
But what will she choose to do as tensions arise between her other half and her family?
