MAX Platt is devastated when David Platt picks a fight with random thugs instead of attending his school speech next week in Coronation Street.
The hairdresser is spiralling out of control after his wife Shona Ramsey refused to let him visit and demanded a divorce.

Coronation Street viewers know that David has been on a downward spiral ever since Shona got caught in the firing line during the soap’s dramatic Christmas shooting.
Things worsened for David when he discovered that Shona had been left with brain damage and couldn’t remember his name or who he was.
The hairdresser was then hit with another devastating blow when Shona refused to see him and demanded a divorce.
It all kicked off earlier this month when Imran told David he couldn’t divorce Shona until they’d been married for at least a year.
He raged at Imran: “It can’t come soon enough. I just want to get it over with and get on with the rest of my life. So I’ve got a wife who barely recognises me and I have to wait another seven months.”
David then turned to booze and wandered down a series of back alleys, picking a fight with a group of thugs.
But when one of the thugs pulled out a knife, David was brought back to reality and tried to run away, shooting up a fire escape to get away from the lads.
Next week’s episodes of Corrie will see David hold up a tattered shirt and quickly stuff it into the washing machine before Gail sees it.
What has he got himself into this time?
David promises Nick that he’ll make it to the family meal later, but ends up falling fast asleep.
Later, David wakes up and looking at the time is horrified to realise that he will have mixed Max’s speech.
Max delivers his speech at the Outreach Awards and tries to hide his disappointment when he notices David’s empty chair.
Will this be the wake-up call that David needs to get himself together?
