Coronation Street spoilers: Peter Barlow becomes suspicious of Scott as newcomer becomes over-involved in Carla’s life

PETER Barlow grows suspicious of newcomer Scott as he starts meddling in Carla’s life next week in Coronation Street. 

Viewers are convinced that Scott is Carla’s father after it emerged that he worked with Johnny back in the 1970s and knew Carla’s mum.

And Johnny was visibly shaken when Scott rocked up on the cobbles as the B&B’s new long-term guest back in April, leading viewers to predict a secret connection between the pair.

Johnny was so keen to avoid Scott that he persuaded Jenny to accompany him on an impromptu trip to France.

Next week’s episodes of Corrie will see Scott criticise Peter for not standing up for Carla when Tracy complains she’s bought Amy some expensive trainers. 

Johnny has run away from Scott and is currently hiding in France

Later, a suspicious Peter does some fishing and asks Jenny what she thinks of Scott.

But Jenny insists she doesn’t give two hoots about Scott and that, given Johnny’s absence, she’s only bothered that he pays his bills on time.

Will Peter get to the bottom of Johnny and Scott’s dark connection?

Speaking about his character Scott, actor Tom Roberts told Metro.co.uk: “He is a very charismatic guy, he’s got a bit of a swagger and he is very confident. He’s quite popular with the ladies, that much we will see pretty much straight away – he’s arrived in the area for a fixed term building job so he travels around a lot and probably has a lady in every port as they say! Or a lady on every building site!

“It becomes obvious pretty much straight away, as soon as Johnny clocks him, that there is a past there. It takes quite a lot to frighten Johnny, he’s no pushover and he is quite a strong guy. So viewers will know from the outset that this outwardly charming, funny man with his witty lines and his confidence is not all that he seems.”

Hinting at some dark connection between Johnny and Scott’s past, Tom said: “I can say there is definitely a past there, a dark one and I am intrigued to see what theories fans come up with.”
