Life can never be without mishaps in the cobbles and the Metcalfes are proof of it.
In scenes due to air on ITV next week, Sally Dynevor‘s character is exhausted after putting up with another night of her husband’s tossing and turning.
But the cabbie portrayed by Joe Duttine has a suggestion the following day to make it up to her.
Tim offers to attend the Bistro’s Casino Night with his wife and suggests they dress up for the evening.
Sally, who has been craving both intimacy and adventure in her marriage, is thrilled – but will it all go according to plan?
Recent months have shown the pair struggle as many obstacles barred their way to marital bliss.
Earlier in 2022, and as they decided to adopt a healthier lifestyle, Tim found out he was suffering from a heart condition, years after his first heart attack.
With his health on the line, he was then told he would have to undergo a heart operation – but mentioned nothing to his wife.
Tim kept his issues a secret for several weeks, only allowing nurse Aggie Bailey to know more about what he was going through.
But, eventually, the cat had to come out of the bag.
The cab driver kept another secret from his wife in more recent weeks.
While his mother Elaine helped him recover from surgery, Sally complained they didn’t get enough time alone.
She dropped several hints regarding her desire to have Elaine leave them be but neither her nor her son had seemed to catch on.
Eventually, Sally took a break from Weatherfield, while the legendary actress who portrays her on-screen tried her luck in Dancing on Ice.
Soon enough, Tim’s impotence came to light and it was mostly due to his heart medication.
Since then, the couple have taken a backseat from all the drama in Weatherfield as characters have either left for good or returned rom the woodwork.
