TODD Grimshaw is feared dead next week in Coronation Street after Billy discovers he disappeared after trying to scam a gangster.

Billy and Sean have been searching for Todd – who hasn’t been seen since 2017 when he assaulted a police officer off-screen and went on the run – ever since his mum Eileen received a letter signed from Todd asking for money.

Private detective Lenny lets Billy know that he’s traced the girl who posed as Todd

Sean and Billy were left concerned when Todd didn’t turn up to pocket the wad of fake cash they’d planted in Victoria Gardens to check if it was really Todd.

And the plot thickened when Craig Tinker dropped the bombshell that Todd is no longer being hunted for by the police – leaving his friends and family wondering why he’d been keeping away from Weatherfield.

Next week’s episodes of Coronation Street will see Billy tell Mary that he’s hired a private detective called Lenny to find Todd.

Paul hatches a plan to find Todd by contacting the Gazette

Lenny laters lets Billy know that he managed to trace the girl who posed as Todd.

But when the detective adds that Todd has been missing for weeks after trying to scam a local gangster, Billy is left fearing for Todd’s life.

Paul hatches a plan and tells Billy he’s contacted the Gazette, which is willing to run a story on Todd’s disappearance.

Later, Billy and Paul worry that they’ve only made matters worse by going public with Todd’s disappearance in the Gazette before telling Sean and Eileen about it.

While the soap has started setting the scene for his return already, Corrie has confirmed that Todd won’t back on our screens until the autumn.

It has been confirmed that actor Gareth Pierce will take over the role three years after Bruno Langley was axed.

New soap star Gareth said: “I’m thrilled to be joining such an iconic show, and to have been entrusted with taking Todd forward into some really exciting storylines.

“It’s an honour to be part of the dedicated Coronation Street team in such unprecedented times.”
