IT WAS firmly a family affair for Coronation Street star Chris Gascoyne and wife Caroline Harding after they were both spotted shooting scenes on the Weatherfield set.

Meanwhile his wife Caroline, whom he married in 2002, has played four different roles in rival ITV soap Emmerdale, yet is switching Yorkshire for Manchester in her new job as Corrie’s latest doctor.

The cute couple were spotted leaving the set with Caroline unmissable in a trendy full-length yellow dress paired with Converse trainers.

She slung a rucksack over her shoulders and swept her red hair back with a pair of sunglasses as she left the Salford Quays set.

Meanwhile Chris looked just as stylish in a denim shirt accessorised with a wooden necklace as he strolled close behind.

The actress’ new scenes are not her first in Weatherfield, after first appearing in 2015 for two episodes.

She played the same role as a doctor, this time diagnosing Hope Stape’s cancer.

Little is known about Caroline’s latest storyline, though filming on the same day as her real-life husband could indicate they are set to star on-screen together.

It is believed she will play a part in Leanne Battersby’s latest emotion-filled plotline, which has previously seen her son Oliver diagnosed with an incurable genetic illness.
