CORONATION Street have taken a HUGE step in Seb Franklin’s emotional flashback scenes which are due to air next week.

The handyman – played by Harry Visinoni in the ITV soap – was brutally killed after he and girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) were attacked in a vicious hate crime.

Coronation Street will air scenes that don’t involve social distancing in Seb Franklin’s emotional flashback scenes
Actor Harry Visinoni will return to our screens next week as Seb Franklin

Fans of the hit show were left heartbroken when Seb died in hospital back in May, and have been speculating who the person behind the crime was ever since.

Harry will make an epic return to the cobbles next week to finally reveal everything that happened that night – and the cast will be seen getting closer than ever before.

Over the past year, strict social distancing rules have been put in place on set to stop the spread of Covid-19, and new filming techniques have been used to make it look as if actors are closer than they are.

Speaking about his return to Coronation Street, Harry said: “It felt special and more like doing a self-contained drama or a film.

“The atmosphere was different and we worked as a close cohort to be able to show the attack and the build-up to it.

“It made it a lot easier, the first time was shot very cleverly and it was left to the public’s imagination, not seeing it didn’t hamper the storytelling but for the flashback it was important to show what actually happened.”

He added: “It was brilliant to come back and see everyone. We did lots of night shoots so it was very different to usual filming.”

While Nina woke up from her coma, Seb’s brain function was impaired and the doctors told his mum Abi (Sally Carman) that there wasn’t much more they could do.

Next week, Nina starts to remember exactly what happened on the night that she and Seb were attacked.

Although both Corey Brent and Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) have been charged over the attack, the teenagers have given conflicting accounts of what happened.

After a piece of music transports her back to the last day of Seb’s life, the student’s memory is jogged and she starts to see things more clearly.

As Nina’s memory returns and she suffers a harrowing flashback, viewers will finally learn who the culprit is.

Speaking about how Nina remembers the night of the attack, actor Max Evans – who plays Corey – told Metro.co.uk: “It’s very interesting – with Covid we had to change the way we work on set, the two metre rule is very vital. Harry and Mollie were so convincing in their scenes without anyone there to do the beating.

“But we will see the full extent of the attack, just to see the full reality of the situation.”

Coronation Street airs tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV
