CORONATION Street viewers praised Nina Lucas for coming to Asha Alahan’s aid on tonight’s episode as she punched a taunting schoolboy outside Roy’s cafe.

Schoolgirl Asha is at the centre of a revenge-porn plot after a video of her stripping for boyfriend Corey was leaked online.

Corrie fans cheered on Nina Lucas for punching a bully in the nose

Corrie fans were left horrified when the teenager was manipulated into taking her top off for her boyfriend Corey on video chat earlier last month.

And since the video leaked, Asha has faced cruel taunting by her peers whenever she leaves her home.

Yet that all changed on tonight’s instalment as a cruel schoolboy began jeering her as she walked by Roy’s with her dad Dev and pal Amy Barlow.

Supporting the teen, Nina rushed out of the cafe and delicately took off her glove while the bully sneeringly asked was she was going to hit him with her glove.

The taunting teen was left wincing in pain

The teen waited until the boy and his pals stopped laughing and perfectly answered “no, I’m going to hit you with this”, punching him straight in the nose.

As the schoolboy cried out in pain, Asha and Amy rushed into the cafe behind Nina unable to contain their joy.

And it wasn’t only the teens who enjoyed seeing Nina’s support but also fans at home who cheered her on.

One penned on Twitter: “KaPOW! Nice one Nina! Now that’s what we call girl power.

“Didn’t you know Nina’s the REAL Scary Spice?”

“Love Nina so much man !! Type of friend you need,” another shared. “Nina has a cracking dig on her”.

A viewer wrote: “I absolutely adore Nina on”.

Previously Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha, previously told Digital Spy that this is the beginning of a new friendship.

She said: “One of the unlikely people who steps forward to help Asha when she’s going through this is Nina,” the star said. “A friendship develops between Asha and Nina – and I love that.

“Nina knows what it’s like to feel different, left out and persecuted. That will develop and this story has a long way to go.”
