CORONATION Street viewers are disgusted after Geoff Metcalfe forced wife Yasmeen to pretend her granddaughter Alya was dead in a sick mind game.
The vile abuser – who is played by actor Ian Bartholomew in the ITV soap – has been coercively controlling Yasmeen for more than a year.
He has cut her off from most of her friends and family as well as taking control of all of her finances but tonight he decided to get rid of her granddaughter Alya for good.
Alya had realised something was wrong with Geoff’s behaviour and finally confronted him tonight.
Geoff decided to use it to force Yasmeen to cut her out of her life by pretending to leave her alone and helpless.
By the time he returned Yasmeen was in a complete state and Geoff took full advantage.
“Where’ve you been, I’ve been worried,” a clearly emotional Yasmeen asked him as Geoff said he was walking around.
He stormed into the house and tricked Yasmeen into thinking he was about to leave her because of Alya.
He raged: “Alya was right, I should be the one to leave. This marriage is broken, she’s dead to me.”
Desperate to keep Geoff with her, Yasmeen said: “Me too!”
And he forced her to repeat it and pretend Alya was dead to her.
A devastated Yasmeen said: “If she can’t be happy when I’m happy and if she can’t trust me when I swear I’m telling the truth then I’m done with her.
“I’ll cut my ties with her if it means I can keep you, yes.”
Viewers were horrified by Geoff’s behaviour.
One wrote: “I can’t believe Yasmeen has just agreed with Geoff that Alya is dead to her! wtf is it going to take for Yasmeen to see that the way Geoff is treating her is wrong? I hope Geoff has a history with the police as it may be the only way to get Yasmeen away from him!”
A second said: “..oh Yasmeen!!!!! Nooooooooo dont cut alya out of your life for grrrrrrr Geoff. … Once again grrrr Geoff creating grrrrrrrr grrrrrr at the TV again!!!!!
Another added: “What?! Yasmeen disowns Alya!! Oh yasmeen!”
