CORONATION Street viewers have spotted that the actress playing Linda Hancock has already appeared on a string of other hit shows.
Linda, Joseph Brown’s glamorous grandmother, returned to the ITV show this week completely out of the blue to see her grandson.
Glamorous Linda is played by Blackpool-born actress, Jacqueline Leonard.
And some eagle-eyed viewers were quick to notice that Jacqueline has appeared in a string of other TV shows too, including Eastenders.
One fan wrote: “Corrie fans.. did you know that Linda played Joe Wicks’ mum in #Eastenders?.. I knew she looked familiar.”
Another chimed: “The woman playing Linda in #Corrie looks familiar to me and tonight I recognised her voice. I just realised it’s the woman who played Joe Wicks’ mum Lorraine in EastEnders!”
“Been bugging me for ages who Katy’s mum is and it’s Joe wicks mum from #coronationstreet #corrie #eastenders #classiceastenders,” another viewer said.
Jacqueline played Sarah Preston in Peak Practice, which ran from 1993-1996.
The 56-year-old also appeared on EastEnders between 1996-1997 as Lorraine, the mother of Joe Wicks (Paul Nicholls).
During her year on the square, Lorraine worked behind the bar in the Queen Vic pub and started a romance with Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).
Actress Jacqueline has also appeared in Corrie before too, back in 2015.
Linda is the mother of Izzy Armstrong and the late Katy Armstrong.
She was previously married to Owen Armstrong and is the grandmother of Jake Windass as well as Joseph.
Viewers will remember that she took daughter Katy and Joseph to Portugal before Katy died in a car crash.
Jacqueline is a busy woman, as she also played Dr. Caroline Powers in Doctors from 2000 to 2001.
She also played Valerie Holden in Hollyoaks in 2007 and Lydia Murdock in River City from 2007 until 2019.
The actress has also appeared in A Time to Dance, Full Stretch, Inspector Morse, Ghosts, The Bill, Holby City, Waterloo Road, Casualty and The Shore.
