CORONATION Street’s Colson Smith looked slimmer than ever leaving the soap’s set yesterday as he continues his incredible weight loss journey.
The British actor is best known for playing Craig Tinker in Coronation Street since August 2011.
The 21-year-old started hitting the gym regularly last year to make sure he was in shape for his role as a policeman on the popular ITV soap.
And Colson showcased the fruits of his hard gym labour as he was pictured leaving the Corrie Studios in Mediacity, Salford Quays.
Clad in an all-black ensemble, the soap star donned a pair of Gym Shark shorts and zip-top, which he paired with white trainers.
In 2016, Colson first revealed he had shed three and half stone after hitting the gym and being put on a strict diet.
However, Coronation Street fans were stunned to see Colson look dramatically different on TV screens after he lost a huge amount of weight during the coronavirus lockdown.
The actor has previously said he has lost a mammoth 10 stone overall – and first showed off his his impressive new look, which has seen him shed more than a stone recently, as he headed off to a showbiz event back in March.
Colson started hitting the gym – which includes weights and kettlebells – and going running regularly this year to make sure he was in shape for his storyline on Corrie.
His weight loss has been written into his Corrie storylines, with his character Craig determined to get fit in his police officer role.
Last week, Corrie viewers were left stunned after his character Craig showed off his huge lockdown weight loss.
The police officer hasn’t been seen on screen in months owing to lockdown and filming schedules but when he returned and he was half the man he used to be.
Colson’s return to set comes four months after ITV bosses halted production of the popular soap due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The cast and crew returned to set last month and despite being proud of his achievements, Colson recently joked that he’d have to wear a fat suit at work.
Speaking on his podcast, he said: “We are in direct continuity, but I’ve almost lost about ten stone since we left work so I’m not sure that [my hair] is going to be the biggest of their issues.
“I might be wearing a wig and a fat suit when we go back. Now we go to a purple shampoo, which almost makes it a platinum sort of colour, which basically takes the ginger pigment out.
“So the yellow-ness will go, and I will have a head of blonde hair, which I technically do now.”
