CORONATION Street star Colson Smith looked slimmer than ever as he celebrated his 22nd birthday on Thursday.

Colson, who plays Craig Tinker on the ITV soap, took to his Instagram Story to mark his special day.

Sharing a mirror selfie with his 161,000 followers, the soap star was seen grinning from ear-to-ear as he showed off his weight loss in a black T-shirt and matching shorts.

Colson wrote alongside the snap: “Thanks for the birthday loving,” and added a gravestone gif with “My youth” written on it.

The actor also took to Twitter and posted: “Thanks for the birthday love Smiling face with 3 heartsPartying face #22.”

Colson had reposted several birthday messages from his Corrie co-stars such as Brooke Vincent.

Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Battersby on the ITV soap, also sent him a tweet and wrote: “Aw many happy returns lovely Partying face xxx.”

His character’s role as a policeman was a lot more noticeable after Colson shed the pounds this year.

The actor has previously said he has lost a mammoth 10 stone overall – and first showed off his his impressive new look, which has seen him shed more than a stone recently, as he headed off to a showbiz event back in March.

The soap star has shed a lot of weight since hitting the gym

Colson started hitting the gym – which includes weights and kettlebells – and going running regularly this year to make sure he was in shape for his storyline on Corrie.

His weight loss has been written into his Corrie storylines, with his character Craig determined to get fit in his police officer role.
