CORONATION Street’s Colson Smith ran a half marathon today in his spare time as he continues his incredible weight loss journey
The actor – who plays Craig Tinker on the popular ITV soap – is fitter than ever as he revealed he ran 13.2 miles in just one hour and 46 minutes.
The 21-year-old actor started hitting the gym regularly last year to make sure he was in shape for his role as a policeman on the popular ITV soap.
As well as completing a big run today, Colson also shared his daily diet with fans.
He had banana choc chip overnight oats for breakfast followed by an ox cheek ragu and pasta for lunch to refuel after his run.
Back in March Colson showed off his impressive new look as he headed off to the TRIC Awards in London.
Colson realised he was getting out of breath chasing shoplifters while playing the copper.
Last month the star revealed how he’s shed the pounds and explained that it’s down to his gruelling fitness regime.
Sharing a video of himself working out in his back garden, Colson was seen swinging kettlebells above his head, slamming a weighted ball on the floor and doing curls using heavy dumbells.
His weight loss during lockdown has amazed fans, with one insisting he was “giving Adele a run for her money”.
Colson recently returned to set four months after ITV bosses halted production of the popular soap due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The cast and crew returned to set last month and despite being proud of his achievements, Colson recently joked that he’d have to wear a fat suit at work.
Speaking on his podcast, he said: “We are in direct continuity, but I’ve almost lost about ten stone since we left work so I’m not sure that [my hair] is going to be the biggest of their issues.
“I might be wearing a wig and a fat suit when we go back. Now we go to a purple shampoo, which almost makes it a platinum sort of colour, which basically takes the ginger pigment out.
“So the yellow-ness will go, and I will have a head of blonde hair, which I technically do now.”
Last week the Craig Tinker star finally work up a sweat at the gym after waiting four months for them to reopen.
His local gym created a makeshift work out area on an outside tennis court and he shared the space with his fans, stating: “So this is what the gym looks like now… hats off @davidlloydsmanchester”
