CORONATION Street star Dolly Rose Campbell has been spotted looking totally different from her soap character Gemma Winter.

The ITV actress – who joined the long-running show in 2014 – has taken a break from the soap to star in a new feature length film.

Fans will recognise Dolly Rose as Gemma in Corrie

Dolly, 35, has been seen in a number of behind-the-scenes snaps taken to advertise the film – called Watching Goldfish Suffocate.

The hard-hitting film is due to focus on the effects of mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder and depression.

Dolly is due to play one of the three female lead characters suffering from one of the debilitating conditions.

It will make the Corrie star’s first ever film role – having only portrayed kebab shop worker Gemma on the silver screen.

In behind-the-scenes snaps from the film’s shooting across Manchester, Dolly can be seen looking different to her soap character.

While Gemma is often seen with gaudy make-up, and her hair pulled up into high ponytails, Dolly goes au-natural in many of the snaps.

She also has her naturally curly hair on show in the photos seeing her have her hair and make-up done for shooting.

Fellow Corrie star Ryan Clayton also stars in the new film as a man struggling with depression, and hiding it from his family.

It comes shortly after Dolly and her co-star Mollie Gallagher turned heads as they glammed up for a London awards show.

The pair, best known for their downtrodden characters on the ITV soap, enjoyed a night off in the capital.

They were joined by their Coronation Street co-stars at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards at The Grosvenor House Hotel.

Dolly Rose smiled as she rocked her natural curls and styled a full-length dark blue dress, with a floral pattern covering the top half.

While, Mollie, 23, who plays troubled teen Nina Leppin, ditched the all-black Goth look favoured by her character, for a touch of colour.

The duo were also joined by Corrie’s Julia Goulding (Shona Platt), Tanisha Gorey (Asha Alahan) and Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Bradley).

The evening was a bit of light relief from current storylines on the long-running soap.
