HELEN Flanagan posted a very honest and frank message today where she revealed she has “struggled” with her mental
Helen, 29, marked Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 but taking to Instagram to speak about her own experience.
Posting an adorable selfie with her eldest daughter Matilda, Helen wrote alongside it: “It’s mental health awareness week. Just wanted to send love to anyone that is struggling at the moment.
“I have struggled at times in my life and so many of my loved ones have. Mental health is nothing to be ashamed of and so many people struggle you are not on your own.”
The former Coronation Street actress continued: “TALK to someone. There is so many people that really care. Mental health is not a weakness and it really does make me so angry when some people are insensitive towards mental health.
“Do what’s right for you, if that’s- exercise, yoga, therapy, medication, doing whatever makes you feel good. Look after yourself. Be KIND and if you can’t be kind be quiet.
“Be careful how you use social media if you not in a good place. Only follow accounts that make you feel good and happy.
“My favourite accounts are women that inspire me. That are honest and talk openly and all about women empowerment.
Please talk to someone if you are struggling and be open ,” she added.
Helen’s post comes after she took to her Instagram story to discuss the struggles of waking her younger daughter, Delilah, up from a nap each day.
Helen revealed that her tot, who turns two next month, takes “half an hour to calm down” when she’s woken up from a nap, and it makes Helen feel “anxious”.
“She screams for ages, she throws herself on the floor, she has a massive paddy and starts screaming and it just makes me feel really anxious because I just don’t know what to do with her,” Helen explained.
“She calms down eventually but you know when you’re just really enjoying your peace and I know she’s going to scream for half an hour.
Helen is isolating with her two daughters and her footballer fiancé, Scott Sinclair.
