CORONATION Street’s Jane Danson has admitted playing Leanne ‘drives her crazy.’
Fans have been divided over the actions of the character, who is in the middle of a living nightmare after being told her three-year-old son Oliver won’t live after he was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease.

Since receiving the dreadful news, Leanne has been denial about the severity of Oliver’s condition and has now decided to take the hospital to court after they said can no longer do anything for him.
To make matters worse, she found out boyfriend Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) has a son with old flame Natasha (Rachel Leskovac).
Jane took to Twitter and responded to the actions of her polarizing character, stating she gets why Leanna is acting this way.
She wrote: “Interesting. Tonight Leanne and I have split opinions… some hate her (and me) some don’t. Interesting how the story manages to do this. Sometimes she drives me crazy too!”
She did also thank fans for their support, adding: “And also … thanks for all the messages, I know the story hits home with for so many people . Thank you for sharing your own experiences.
“I find it interesting how we all see things differently and that’s what helps us tell the stories.”
In Wednesday’s episode (October 7), Leanne was furious with Nick for not telling her sooner that he had a child.
After a tense conversation with Natasha, Leanne met Nick’s son Sam (Jude Riordan) briefly before excusing herself.
She told Nick later on that she couldn’t come to terms with the fact that he has another child to “latch onto” if/when something really bad happens with Oliver, and demanded he leave her alone, seemingly putting an end to their relationship.
Fans were devastated Leanne had ended things.
One wrote: “Leanne is breaking my heart, @RealJaneDanson is outstanding”.
A second said: “I feel so sorry for Leanne”.
Another added: “Oh, poor Nick – this is horrible.”
