CORONATION Street fans were left gobsmacked after an amazing throwback snap of Rita Sullivan was shared online.
The photo showed Rita – who is played by actress Barbara Knox – relaxing by the pool in Majorca with her soap co-stars, including Julie Goodyear, Eileen Derbyshire, Jean Alexander and Anne Kirkbride.

In the 1974 throwback, the stars sip on cocktails as they soak up the Spanish sun.
The eight women travelled to Majorca for an episode, which saw barmaid Bet Lynch (Julie) win a holiday during a Spot the Ball competition.
Barbara – who is sitting furthest away from the camera – dips into her toes into the pool while sporting a black swimming costume.

Barbara first appeared in Coronation Street as Rita Littlewood in 1964 for one episode before returning in January 1972 as Rita Bates as the common-law wife of Harry Bates.
Her character has been married three times – to Len Fairclough, Ted Sullivan and Dennis Tanner – and her work saw Barbara receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards in 2004.
